Is it to be a CEO of a multi-million dollar corporation? Is it to run a non-profit business to help your community? Is it to be a stay-at-home mom?
MY biggest career goal has and always will be to be my own boss out of the comfort of my home. I want to work when I want, where I want, and however I want.
I’ve gone through many phases of my life in various careers. I’ve worked for minimum wage to pursue my dream of dancing at Disney. I’ve had the “stable” salaried job (that actually wasn’t so stable). And I’ve had the time-consuming and exhausting dance teacher job. I’ve loved and hated various parts of those phases in my life. But now I’m setting myself up for the future. I want to build my own destiny.
My top reasons for becoming a self-employed #bossbitch are:
To be able to have the flexibility to work where I want, when I want.
No more requesting days off work. No more not knowing whether I’ll be able to make that family gathering. No more not being able to escape for a weekend away.
I set my rules. I ask myself for days off. And I am the boss.
To set my own pay rate & have unlimited earning potential.
With most jobs, you know your earning potential the moment you sign on the dotted line. There’s no infinite possibility of income and there’s certainly no chance to give yourself a raise when you think you deserve it.
I have financial goals that I do not foresee happening while working for someone else. I set my pay, I create my content, and I decide my earning potential
To be able to be a work-at-home mom when kids are in the picture.
No, there are no kids in the picture at the time being, but we are only a couple of years off from that time in our lives and I do not want my kids to grow up in daycare.
I never pictured myself NOT working and being a stay-at-home mom, but I also do not want my kids being raised by someone else. When I am my own boss bring your kid to work day will be every day.
To be able to grow my own dreams; not the dreams of someone else.
Why should I work my a$$ off to build the dreams of someone else?
Now I know what you’re thinking… but you are a virtual ASSISTANT, don’t you ASSIST someone in their business?
And the answer is YES, I do. But I do it on my terms.
Because being a Virtual Assistant it is MY business.
