Virtual Assistant

How I Built My VA Business to 2k/Month in 6 Months

When I decided to take a shot at being a Virtual Assistant I did not know what to expect. I didn’t know how long it would take to get my first client. I didn’t even know how to find my first client. And I certainly didn’t know how much money I would be making.

My first step in my Virtual Assistant journey was taking an online course that walked me through getting started and marketing myself in this new field. Now, I would typically recommend this program to you because it really did help me, but since then the owner of the course has made some poor business decisions that have rubbed me the wrong way, and I would never recommend something that I wasn’t entirely invested in.

After taking this course and getting my website up and running, I jumped into the world of the Facebook Groups for Virtual Assistants. Let me tell you, there is a crazy world out there and people are cut throat! But, putting that aside, these Facebook groups did help me to find my first client! And another one down the road! I will write a post all about the VA FB groups in the future.

But, the number one thing that has helped me to grow my VA business was LinkedIn. As soon as I decided I was going to go for this and try to make this a career, I changed my job title on indeed to “Virtual Assistant.” I then “connected” with as many fitness and dance (my niche) related people I could find. And wouldn’t you know, I received multiple requests for initial calls within days, a few of which turned in to clients!

Now, I’m not saying it is this easy for everyone, because it’s not. You have to have the necessary skills to back up the connections you make, but all of those things are learnable! If you have the passion, the drive, and the willingness to learn, you can become a Virtual Assistant too!

Have more questions on how to become a VA? I’d love to help!
